Theater Cop Series

As J.A. Hennrikus, I am writing a Theater Cop series for Midnight Ink. Edwina “Sully” Sullivan is an ex-cop who was forced to retire. She moves back to her hometown of Trevorton, MA and takes a job as a managing director of the Cliffside Theater Company.

with a kiss i dieThe second in the series, With a Kiss I Die, will be released on April 8, 2019. Here’s a blurb about the book:

When retired cop Edwina “Sully” Sullivan learns that a production of Romeo and Juliet—which Cliffside Theater’s Dimitri Traietti left town to direct—is in serious trouble, she sets aside her grant applications and heads to Boston to help.

Between managing Dimitri, consulting with costume and set designers, and schmoozing with potential funders, Sully puts on nearly every hat in the biz. But the one hat she doesn’t expect to wear is that of her old job as a cop. When a socialite is murdered in Boston Garden, Sully’s ex-husband becomes the prime suspect. So she dusts off her investigative skills and once again steps into the spotlight of crime solving.

The first in the series is A Christmas Peril. Here’s a blurb about the book:

christmas-perilWhen Edwina “Sully” Sullivan’s life imploded, she left behind her job on the police force and her unfaithful husband to start a new life as the general manager of her hometown theater, the Cliffside Theater Company. For five years, she focused on budgets instead of crimes and kept the Cliffside running alongside its mercurial artistic director.

But when her best friend is arrested for killing his father, the rich and powerful Peter Whitehall, no one is looking for another suspect. So, in between keeping A Christmas Carol on budget and Scrooge sober, Sully dusts off her investigative skills to find a killer. Her two lives collide when her ex-husband gets on the suspect list and she’s forced to confront her past in order to save her present.
